electronica 2006 Sponsors Elektra’s “System on Chip Design Award for Industrial & Automotive Applications”

To recognize the greatest achievement in system-on-chip design in the European electronics industry, electronica will be awarding the “System on Chip Design Award for Industrial & Automotive Applications” on November 15, 2006.

The award, which underscores the trade show’s focus on electronics applications, will be presented within the framework of the ELEKTRA 06 European Industry Awards. Entries for the award will be accepted until June 23, 2006. The presentation ceremony will be held in the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel in Munich, Germany.

ELEKTRA 06 will present European Industry Awards in a total of 15 categories to recognize outstanding achievement, innovation and successes in the European electronics industry. The accolades range from the “Manufacturer of the Year Award” to the “Investing in People Award,” “Online Business Award” and “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

The electronica 2006 event, the world’s leading trade show for components, systems and applications, is sponsoring the “System on Chip Design Award for Industrial & Automotive Applications.” Klaus Dittrich, managing director of Messe München comments: “The electronica trade show presents the high-growth fields of electronics applications – such as the automotive, wireless, embedded systems and micro- and nanotechnology segments – in their own independent exhibition areas. Through our sponsorship, we are seeking to recognize outstanding achievement in the electronics industry and underscore the importance of applications at electronica.”

An independent panel of industry experts will evaluate the submitted proposals. The ELEKTRA 06 European Electronics Industry Awards will be presented at the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel in Munich, Germany, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006. That same week, the electronica trade show will be taking place on the grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Center from 14 – 17 November 2006. This event brings together the world’s leading electronics companies and their top management in Munich.
