Elaphe is a startup in Slovenia that has just demonstrated axial flux, permanent magnet synchronous traction motors of unusually high power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratio.
First demonstrator is a conversion of the Smart For Two car. The motors achieve 30kW with only 19kg and 400-500 nm or 800 nm torque is achievable, voltage being 450V in line with the trend to higher voltage systems in electric vehicles to gain efficiency. They claim, ease of integration and low noise, high energy efficiency. Elaphe seeks partners to bring its superlatives to market. The company offers, Design and deliver direct drive custom solutions to meet the exact needs of your electric vehicle.
