Rob Austin, a chartered surveyor from Romsey by profession, came second in the John Cooper Challenge series last year and went on to represent British drivers in European races. This year he’s aiming for the top spot on the podium in the Mini Challenge, which is a follow on from the 4-year old John Cooper Challenge, and is to be broadcast on Sky Sports over the coming weeks.
There are twelve races in the Mini Challenge series, held at venues throughout the UK including Donington Park, Croft, Thruxton, Castle Comb, Mondello Park (Northern Ireland) and Silverstone.
