DSL launches bedside infotainment system

A new self-service, bedside infotainment system designed specially for use in hospitals, clinics and care homes has been launched by Datasound Laboratories (DSL). The new, compact and stylish medical PC system provides powerful computing and Internet browsing capabilities, along with support for audio and TV and Voice over IP for telephone calls with built in handset and camera. With a robust ventless, water-proof and dust-resistant design, the new DSL M1726 infotainment system features a seamless, easy-to-clean 17inch touchscreen display rated to IP65 for use in medical environments.
/> The stand-alone system can be connected using a Gigabit wired LAN or wireless network and also supports Bluetooth. Integrated RFID along with barcode scanner, SMART card and magnetic strip readers allow the system to be used with a range of payment options while providing strong user security. As well as offering a complete infotainment solution for patients and care home residents, medical staff can also have secure access to records and scans for bedside consultations.

The DSL M1726 is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz Fanless CPU with 2GB RAM and 160GB SATA Hard Disk. In addition to the IP65 rated flat panel display, the M1726 has UL60601-1/EN60601-1/EN60601-1-2 approvals.
