CSR announced that it is to demonstrate its location, connectivity and audio platforms working in harmony in an open source environment at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010. For the first time, one can see how CSR’s connectivity, location and audio technologies can combine with value added software to create platforms that can significantly enrich the user experience in the next generation of location centric mobile consumer devices.

Kanwar Chadha, Chief Marketing Officer of CSR commented, “We see an increasing trend towards a new class of consumer devices designed to access a vast ecosystem of content and services through the internet. Location awareness and connectivity are not only an integral part of these devices, but a key differentiator in enriching the consumer experience. Our platform approach of the intelligent combination of wireless connectivity, location and audio enhancement hardware and software, combined with our proprietary algorithms, is designed to deliver clearly discernable improvements in performance right up to the end-user's experience of the application”.

Chadha continued, “At MWC this year we're able to clearly show the power of our connectivity, location and audio platforms, as well as synergies of combining these platforms derived from CSR and SiRF technologies. For example we're delivering faster location fixes than ever before, with significantly lower power consumption, enabling phone calls with clearer voice quality, and providing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity that produces excellent connection speeds and interoperate seamlessly.”

Available via appointment only, CSR’s Trinity platform demo is powered by CSR’s multifunction location platform system on chip (SoC) called the SiRFprima. Running on an Android operating system (OS) and linked to CSR’s connectivity platform through the Synergy environment, the demo will show streaming of multimedia content via Wi-Fi to Prima and playback to a stereo Bluetooth headset powered by CSR’s audio platform. This platform is capable of navigation, 3D visualisation and multimedia playback.

In addition to this, CSR will demonstrate at MWC how it is setting new standards for audio, location and connectivity platforms in the mobile phone industry and will also be showcasing a range of its other audio, location and connectivity platform technologies at the show. These include:

- SiRFstarIV the flagship GPS powered location platform with micropower SiRFaware capability

- CSR7810, the world's first audio processor with Bluetooth connectivity for handsets

- Clear Voice Capture (CVC®) 5.0, CSR’s proprietary state of the art audio enhancement and noise suppression technology to both near and far-end wireless communications

- Demonstration of Bluetooth low energy technology in the connected home environment
