Crosspoint Switches Supports Data Rates up to 4.25 Gbps

Texas Instruments has introduced two new crosspoint switches supporting data rates up to 4.25Gbps. The four-by-four and two-by-two switches provide an exceptional combination of high speed, low power and low jitter performance for applications such as XAUI signal buffering/muxing, backplane redundancy and high-speed network routing in end equipment such as wireless base stations and IP network routers. The SN65LVCP404 and SN65LVCP402’s ability to function as either a crosspoint switch or buffer will give designers the flexibility to use the devices in a wide variety of applications in the mass market.

The addition of the SN65LVCP404 and SN65LVCP402 crosspoint switches complement TI’s broad interface product offering including families of products for M-LVDS, LVDS, PECL, RS-485, PCI-Express, gigabit Ethernet serializer/deserializers and additional crosspoint switches.

TI also offers a complete portfolio of single- and multi-core communications infrastructure optimized digital signal processors (DSP). These DSPs support multiple air interface standards and a range of base
station form factors as well as a variety of core networking applications including transcoding and media gateways on a single chip. Coupled with targeted software libraries and third party reference
designs, TI offers the most robust line of products for the communications infrastructure market.

The SN65LVCP404 (4×4) and SN65LVCP402 (2×2) are available now in 48-pin and 24-pin quad flat no lead (QFN) lead-free packages and are priced at $9.85 and $6.65, respectively, each in 1,000-piece quantities.
