COMPRION’s product range supporting the Third Form Factor (3FF) has been extended by a new Mini- UICC Adaptor and new Flex Adaptors. Since 2006 COMPRION offers Test (U)SIMs in the smallest available card format following ETSI TS 102 221. The 3FF SIM card, also known as Mini-UICC or MicroSIM, is half the size of SIM cards today.
With a format of 12mm x 15mm only, the 3FF card can be used in small devices such as mobile phones, PDAs or Apple’s just released iPad. To ensure backwards compatibility to the Plug-In format, COMPRION now offers a Mini-UICC Adaptor to turn the Mini- UICC into the Plug-In format. Hence, the Mini-UICC can also be used in today’s mobile phones. The new Flex Adaptors, connecting the device with COMPRION’s test tools for Smart Card interfaces, also support the 3FF format.

“The card is becoming smaller and smaller but its performance and range of use is growing continuously. With the amount of 3FF cards used in extremely small devices the demand for 3FF test accessories has increased” states Daniela Wittkamp, responsible Product Manager at COMPRION.
