NEXCOM has launched what it claims isits most versatile blade server to date with the introduction of the new HS416A. The HS416A’s architecture enables it to accommodate any combination of dual-core, 64-bit or 32-bit Server Blades and/or Pentium M based PC-Blades in the same compact 4u chassis.
This feature gives users the flexibility to employ up to 16 Pentium M based PC-blades for applications that require low-power consumption; or up to 8 Dual-Core/64-Bit server blades for high-performance computing. Therefore the HS416A enables users to enjoy the benefits of both Blade Server and PC-Blade technology without the need to purchase an additional chassis – thus reducing total outlay and saving valuable rackspace.

The onboard PCI-X/ PCI-Express expansion slot is a unique feature of the HS416A. To meet diverse application requirements each server blade can operate with off-the-shelf PCI-X or PCI-Express add-on cards, such as Fiber Channel HBA, SSL accelerator, or Infiniband HCA. In addition, with the features of simultaneous 64-bit and 32-bit computing and the option of PC-blade or server blade, the NexBlade HS416A can be tailored to fulfill the extreme applications requiring high-performance computing horsepower and intensive I/O.

The NexBlade HS416A easily achieves excellence in terms of its aggregated computing power, network throughput, flexible expansion, availability, and serviceability. With load balancing, impressive network throughput and super-fast I/O data TM path, the NexBlade HS416A is ideal for building up both large-scale computing clusters and on-demand infrastructures for today’s service providers.
