Companies competing for the award were required to demonstrate a product or process that contributed a significant difference to sales revenue, a commitment to the use of technology that has led to business success and evidence of an innovative approach to marketing, management or product development.
CIL won the award based on the work that the company has carried out in producing alternative high efficiency light sources across a number of markets and in particular for the CIL CoolLED range of products that has achieved significant success in the life-sciences and microscopy markets.
