Futures Day gave students the chance to examine BLOUDHOUND the supersonic car and try out a flight simulator. The students, who were selected from electronics, systems & control and design & technology classes, were given the opportunity to speak with an astronaut and industry leaders. Participating schools included Caister High, Benjamin Britten High, Great Yarmouth High, Lynn Grove High, Thorpe St Andrew High and Great Yarmouth College.
As one of the largest non-governmental employers in the Great Yarmouth area C-MAC is dedicated to encouraging local pupils to consider a future career in engineering. In addition to organising educational days out, C-MAC provides apprenticeships and work experience placements to school children in the region.
Paul Hill, General Manager, C-MAC, commented; “C-MAC is a company with a long and proud British electronics engineering and manufacturing heritage, and this trip is part of our programme to inspire the next generation of engineers in our region and help to promote a bright future for British engineering. The Futures Day visit was a real success and we look forward to taking part in more events like this in the future.”
