The East Midlands Chamber Business Awards recognise local businesses that have pioneered new concepts and innovation, excelled in commercial enterprise or set themselves apart with their approach to workforce development. Judges selected Cressall as the overall Business of the Year out of all Leicestershire category winners.

A combination of the company’s growth both domestically and internationally, its innovative design-led approach to products and dedication to high quality standards, singled it out for the prestigious top award.

Cressall also won the award for Excellence in International Trade. The company's international growth strategy focuses on strong relationships with global distributors across five continents. In 2016, Cressall's export sales are predicted to make up 53% of total turnover.

“Cressall has been manufacturing in Leicester for 23 years and in that time it has grown from less than 20 employees to over 100,” explained Simone Bruckner, Managing Director of Cressall. “This year, we have expanded our dedicated R&D facility, which has created a number of jobs and will undoubtedly create more opportunities for the East Midlands in the future.”

“At Cressall, we focus on continually improving our performance and efficiency," explained Martin Nicholls, Sales Director of Cressall. "The latest R&D facility upgrade optimises and improves what we do and enables us to develop new products. This, combined with our ability to produce bespoke resistors for customer requirements, has allowed us to move into exciting new global markets– such as marine, defence and renewable energy.”

Leading market research company Technavio, recently named Cressall as one of the top five leading vendor in the global electrical resistors market.
