Broadcom has today revealed its acceptance as a full Member of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition, an alliance of the world's leading electronics companies working together to improve efficiency and social, ethical, and environmental responsibility in the global supply chain. In becoming a full EICC member, Broadcom will adopt the organization's code of conduct to ensure worker safety and fairness, environmental responsibility and business efficiency.

Broadcom commits to conform to the EICC code of conduct in its own operations, progressively implementing the EICC approach and tools in the spirit of the industry's common goals.

"Our membership in the EICC affirms our commitment to maintain the highest standards of corporate social responsibility. We very much look forward to collaborating with EICC members to advance the organization's responsible business practices that result in mutually beneficial social, economic and environmental outcomes for our company and our business partners," commented Neil Kim, Broadcom Executive Vice President, Operations and Central Engineering.

In support of the EICC's vision and mission, Broadcom's socially responsible policies strive to ensure that the materials used in its supply chain are sourced in an ethical and responsible manner; and it encourages its suppliers to do the same. Broadcom supports industry efforts to use minerals certified as conflict-free by an independent auditor through the Conflict-Free Smelter Program administered by the EICC and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative. Broadcom has adopted a continuous improvement approach towards reducing its environmental impact while conserving natural resources and sourcing goods and services that have a reduced adverse effect on human health and the environment.
