Diab spearheaded Broadcom’s EEN portfolio, which goes beyond the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Std 802.3az™-2010 Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard, delivering energy savings of 70 percent or more per port and providing customers with end-to-end solutions that enable faster deployment of energy efficient networks. Broadcom EEN solutions could help reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the United States alone by up to 2.85 million metric tons (1).
Diab is a senior member of the IEEE and serves as the Vice-Chair of the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group. He has 65 issued U.S. patents and more than 250 pending U.S. patent applications in the networking space. He also is a published author and co-wrote Ethernet in the First Mile: Access for Everyone.
The Innovator Awards honor innovators representing different industry segments for their contributions to the technology industry.
