Coinciding with the celebration of their 100th year in business, German camera-accessory manufacturer Bilora announces the availability of the “Bilora photo-geotagger” based on u-blox’ “Capture & Process” GPS solution.
Based on advanced satellite-GPS technology, the hot-shoe accessory allows virtually any SLR camera to instantaneously capture position anywhere in the world each time a photo is taken. With specially developed PC / Mac software, photos are matched with fixes and geotagged with latitude/longitude and street address details which can be displayed on a satellite map. Photos can be conveniently stored and recalled based on where they were taken, not just when. Geotagged photos can easily be uploaded to popular photo-sharing applications such as Google Earth, Picasa or Flickr.

“We are very pleased to see how quickly our Capture & Process technology has been productized resulting in unbeatable value propositions for photographers. Until recently, the ability to design a device that geotags in a fraction of second while providing months of battery life was unheard of”, said Karsten Tietz, VP Sales EMEA.

“Bilora has a long history of providing innovative, high quality camera accessories to the global photography market. Through our partnership with u-blox, we are very proud to be on the cutting edge of photo geotagging technology”, said Carsten Reck “Thanks to Capture & Process, our photo-geotagger will help revolutionize the way consumers manage their photos and share them online.”
