“AWR has experienced a marked acceleration in sales and sales-related activities over the past two quarters, and we remain extremely optimistic about the future,” said Dane Collins, AWR chief executive officer. “Fiscal year 2011 was a breakthrough year for the company, as more and more companies shifted away from legacy design tools to embrace AWR’s innovative, intuitive, and integrated software solutions.”
AWR accomplished a broad-based surge in sales that included several large new customers in the telecommunications and defense electronics sectors. Sales of the company’s Visual System Simulator™ product line as well as sales of its flagship product, Microwave Office™, into the signal integrity space added to historical revenue numbers in the monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) and radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) design sectors.
Achieving record revenues for the fourteenth year in a row is a great accomplishment in light of the severe market downturns and turbulent global economy over the past few years, said AWR chief financial officer, Rick Bottomley. “The Company not only exceeded revenue and profitability goals established at the beginning of the fiscal year, but also ended the year with a record backlog that positions AWR well for future growth.
