The event, which took place at The Belfry Hotel in the West Midlands on 3 November, gave users the opportunity to learn all about the latest Autodesk Digital Prototyping solutions including Autodesk® Inventor; Autodesk Moldflow; Autodesk Algor and Autodesk Alias. Autodesk experts also provided invaluable tips and tricks to help attendees get the most out of using the software in their day-to-day work.
“We were working to a tight deadline on this show but we knew we needed an extremely well designed robot to have a chance of winning the challenge,” Cooper explained in his speech. “The use of Autodesk Inventor was critical in enabling us to reduce the design cycle, in rapidly developing an innovative robot and ultimately in winning the challenge itself.”
The event also featured an in-depth product session for all delegates explaining a complete digital design workflow from initial layout to finished product. The most commonly-used Autodesk products were covered in detail, while customers were given an insight into other solutions which they may not have previously considered. In the afternoon, there were breakout sessions covering Autodesk Inventor tips and tricks; simulation and analysis featuring Autodesk® Algor® and Autodesk® Moldflow®, data management incorporating Autodesk Inventor Publisher and Autodesk Vault Pro and industrial design including Autodesk Alias Design.
The event also played host to a small exhibition featuring a range of Autodesk products and related hardware and software solutions from graphics cards to Autodesk Inventor add-ons.
“We are delighted with the attendance levels we achieved for the Digital Prototyping Forum event,” says Tim Doidge, sustainability director, EMEA, Autodesk. “The feedback we have received so far has been overwhelming positive and highlights that the Forum is rapidly establishing itself as a ‘must-attend’ event for manufacturing and mechanical design users across the country.”
