Supplier of Measurement, Calibration and Diagnostic (MCD) tools, Accurate Technologies (ATI) has announced the release of an Ethernet version of its well-proven A8 Electronic Control Unit (ECU) high speed Serial Interface module. Ethernet connectivity enables reliable long distance connections of up to 50m and improved data transfer rates.

In addition, ATI has implemented Ethernet connectivity that is as easy to use as USB, making the unit truly, ‘plug and play’.

ATI’s A8 Serial Interface modules support ECU high speed data acquisition, calibration and flashing in a single OCDS, Nexus, or DAP2 debug interface. The A8 can work with almost any microcontroller with a standard real time debug interface and gives the user high speed access to their ECU’s data.

“As the range of ECU’s across vehicles continues to grow rapidly, the efficiency of MCD tools are critical to program success,” explained Jeff Smith, Director, ECU Interfaces, Accurate Technologies.

“Building on our experience working with multiple vehicle manufacturers worldwide, we’ve understood and addressed what they need most: faster, more flexible, user-intuitive and efficient tools that help their engineers deliver robust, solutions on time and to budget.”

With the rollout of Ethernet capability, the ATI A8 high speed Serial Interface modules will also support ASAM’s XCP communication protocol. XCP support, available for both USB and Ethernet, enables the use of ATI’s A8 Serial Interfaces with commonly found third party software tools.

Customers can benefit from the A8 Serial Interface features regardless of software tool selection, or seamlessly accommodate time stamps and data synchronisation by using ATI’s recommended VISION calibration and data acquisition software.
