A society is a “smart society” if it helps people to live ecological, secure/safe, convenient and more comfortable lives. This section describes how Renesas’ semiconductor engineering contributes to achievement of a smart society. As the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive microcontrollers, Renesas details its contribution to developing the next-generation autos for a smart society with its semiconductor technology.
Special Feature II: Naka Factory Restoration and Earthquake Lessons
The Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011 caused severe damage to the Naka Factory and inconvenienced customers. This section describes what Renesas has learned by the Naka Factory restoration from the earthquake, and how Renesas utilizes the experience. The enhancement of earthquake protection for Naka Factory is introduced as one of the BCP measures undertaken after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
