Based on a PC/104 single-board computer fitted with a 500MHz AMD Geode LX processor, the ENC-iGLX has 256MB of DDR memory and a 60GB hard disk to support developers targeting Linux or Windows XP operating systems. The computer also features an SXGA graphics controller enabling connection to a flat-panel monitor.
The compact module measures 120mm x 116mm x 40mm, and can be fitted easily inside an enclosure or behind a display in equipment such as industrial controls, point-of-sale terminals or miniature kiosks. 5V operation and sub-6W power consumption simplify power supply design and allow product developers to deliver economical operation as well as high computing performance.
With two 10/100 Ethernet ports and two USB ports, the ENC-iGLX can also be used in networked applications such as classroom computers, Internet appliances and specialised routers. The two USB ports allow easy attachment of standard peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse or printer, or other devices such as a pen drive or wireless interface. A serial RS-232 output is also provided, as well as a speaker and microphone interface, allowing end-user equipment to fulfil a variety of communication and media applications such as telephony, voice recording or audio playback.
