AnalogicTech Sees No Impact to Its Business from Recent ITC Ruling

Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc commented today on the recent Initial Determination issued by the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) with respect to patent proceedings with Linear Technology Corporation (Linear) on U.S. Patent No. 6,580,258 (‘258 Patent). Although the latest ruling broadens the group of affected products, the majority of products impacted by the ITC’s Limited Exclusion Order use older designs or technologies and more than one-third of these products have had no associated revenue for the last three years. As AnalogicTech continues to focus its sales efforts on non-U.S. markets, the total U.S. revenue for the products in this case is approximately one-tenth of one-percent of AnalogicTech’s worldwide revenue for the same products. The Company continues to anticipate no significant impact to its business.

While we disagree with this recent ruling, the effect to our business remains unchanged, stated Joseph Hollinger, Counsel of AnalogicTech. We are pleased that the Judge has recommended no change to the current Limited Exclusion Order which applies only to AnalogicTech and its agents and does not prevent our customers from importing their downstream products that may contain our switching regulators.

AnalogicTech remains focused on innovation and has identified several new switching regulator topologies that it plans to pursue in spite of the impending expiration of the Linear Tech Patent.
