The aim of the FallWatch project granted by the FP7 program of the European Commission is to realize the first miniaturized wearable radiocommunicating fall detection sensor Mini’Fall® developed by French provider of telemedical solutions Vigilio S.A. with a Consortium of European partners. Mini’Fall relies on a 3-dimensional wireless sensor which in addition has the ability to record and evaluate cardiac activity and to process fault tolerant reports to appropriate interfaces. The new wireless fall detection sensor will combine all these features in an unprecedented minimal space.
AEMtec is the FallWatch project’s sole partner for packaging technology and series production including assembly, final assembly and test. This makes the company an important player and driving force in terms of adding reliability, stability, interface conformity and power management optimization to the product. In addition, AEMtec has been selected the partner of choice to produce Mini’Fall in series after successful completion of the clinical trial and admission requirements. Projected quantities are 100k/yr. Worldwide sales of Mini’Fall will be handled by Vigilio S.A.
