Advanced Power Components signs distribution agreement with IB Technology

Advanced Power Components plc (APC), a specialist distributor and manufacturers’ representative of electronic components, is pleased to announce that it has signed a distribution agreement with IB Technology, a leading provider of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Reader solutions.

IB Technology has simplified RFID design, providing a range of cost effective pin-compatible and host command compatible reader modules for the most popular 125kHz and 13.56MHz transponder types (including Hitag1, HitagS, Hitag2, Em4102, MCRF200/123, ICODE, TagiT HF-I, Mifare 1K, 4K and Ultralight). Customers have the option of buying modules (typically for low volume applications), OEM Boards (medium to high volume) or Reference Design Packs (high volume). Included in the Reference Design Packs are the schematics, Gerber files, BOM, Layout notes, technical support (including advice on antenna layout and tuning) and PCB checking service. The customer can then copy the RFID Reader layout onto their own PCB and only needs to buy the pre-programmed microcontroller; all other Bill-of-Material components can be sourced from their usual supplier.

The product line will now be distributed in the UK by Advanced Power Components’ APC-Hero business unit, which specialises in the distribution of commercial and industrial electronic components.

Ian Evans, Technical Manager at IB Technology, said:

“We are very pleased to select APC Hero as a distributor for IB Technology. APC’s market strength and technical expertise means that they are well positioned to provide customers with exceptional support alongside an exceptional product”.

John Kain, Product Manager at APC Hero, said:

“We have been looking for a long time for an RFID Reader manufacturer that can supply a cost effective, reliable and simple to use RFID Reader. IB Technology ticks all the right boxes and is a welcome addition to APC-Hero’s growing line card.”
