Integrated Device Technology, better known as IDT, announces that Acme Packet has chosen an IDT Network Search Engine for inclusion in its leading-edge family of Net-Net session border controllers (SBC). The IDT75K62213 NSE helps the Net-Net family provide critical service reach, service assurance and security requirements for the delivery of interactive voice, video and multimedia communications across IP network borders through its ability to process network address translation and address resolution protocol look-ups. The IDT NSE is a critical component in allowing the session border controllers to seamlessly maintain the performance required for latency sensitive voice and video traffic.
Acme Packet provides session border controllers, a growing category of network equipment that provides critical control functions to enable high quality interactive communications—voice, video and multimedia sessions—across IP network borders. The Net-Net product family delivers session border control functionality with the performance, capacity, scalability, availability and manageability to support next-generation converged fixed-mobile architectures. The Acme Packet family of Net-Net SBCs supports both subscriber access and network interconnect border requirements in wireline, cable and wireless networks.

The IDT NSE operates seamlessly with Acme Packet’s chosen network processor and offers superior performance offloading classification and forwarding lookups that provide 256-bits of associated data per look up – the highest in the industry. This allows more information to be associated per look-up, reducing the number of look-ups needed and improving overall performance. Additionally, the 75K62213 incorporates database management features that enable significant power savings. The feature-rich IDT NSE also enables ease of use and flexibility with its comprehensive software and hardware development package that seamlessly integrates into the reference platform of the network processor implemented by Acme Packet.
