New from Swiss sensor company, Contrinex, is a 6.5mm diameter, non-flush, sensor that has a sensing distance of 4mm. In 2005, Contrinex, a specialist in producing very small, high performance, rugged inductive sensors, produced 4mm sensing distance in M8 size and now, thanks to smart packaging and new ASIC technology, this sensing distance, four times that of conventional sensors, is achieved in a 6.5mm diameter housing.
The compromise between space, body size and sensing distance is a major issue in many sensing applications and long sensing distance versions of small diameter sensors are usually very expensive, however these new Contrinex sensors offer a highly cost-effective solution.

All sensors in the range have output frequencies of 2.5KHz and provide short circuit, inverse polarity connection and overload protection and are available in NPN, PNP, Normally Open, Normally Closed options in both cable or pluggable formats.
