AMD to buy Xilinx in $35bn deal

AMD will buy Xilinx in an all-stock transaction valued at $35 billion. The deal brings together performance processor technologies, combining CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, Adaptive SoCs and deep software expertise.

Opportunities resulting from the deal span some of the industry’s most important growth segments from the data centre to gaming, PCs, communications, automotive, industrial, aerospace and defence.
