Texas Instruments has introduced a pair of RF system-on-chip solutions designed for low-power and low-voltage wireless applications used in the 2.4 GHz and sub-1 GHz frequency bands. The CC2510 and CC1110 combine TI’s state-of-the-art RF transceivers (CC2500 and CC1101) with an industry-standard enhanced 8051 microcontroller, 8/16/32 kB of in-system programmable flash memory, 1/2/4 kB of RAM and many other powerful features – all inside a small 6-mm x 6-mm QLP-36 package.

High integration and low power consumption make the CC2510 and CC1100 well suited for wireless systems requiring longer battery life, smaller size, lower cost and shorter product development time. The CC2510 (2.4 GHz) targets wireless keyboard/mouse, wireless gaming, sports and leisure equipment, remote controls and wireless voice audio applications. The CC1110 (sub-1 GHz) is designed for alarm and security, automatic meter reading, industrial monitoring and control, and home and building automation applications.

Additional features include 300-nA sleep current in lowest power mode, embedded 128-bit AES security coprocessor, excellent receiver selectivity and blocking performance, high sensitivity, programmable data rate up to 500 kBaud and a wide supply voltage range (2.0 V to 3.6 V).

The CC2510 and CC1110 are available now from TI and its authorized distributors in 6-mm x 6-mm QLP-36 packages. Suggested resale pricing for the CC2510 starts at $3.25 in 1,000-unit quantities. Suggested resale pricing for the CC1110 starts at $4.30 in 1,000-unit quantities. Start your development today with comprehensive development kits for both devices.
