The product is capable of supporting data rates of up to 10 kbps and is particularly suitable for one-to-one and multi-node wireless links where longer ranges are required at low to moderate data rates. It comes in a standard SIL pin out (0.1 pitch) and foot print, and is an enhanced, low cost version of the Radiometrix RX1 receiver, but has slightly larger dimensions (measuring 47x17x8mm). Receiver sensitivity is an impressive -120dBm (for 12dB SINAD), and blocking is better than -84dB.
The modules combine effective screening with internal filtering to minimise spurious radiation and susceptibility, thereby ensuring that EMC compliance is maintained. They are designed to comply with the EN 300 220-3 harmonised radio standard and the EN 301 489-3 EMC standard. The module can cope with operating temperatures between -10 to +60°C, and runs off a 2.9 to 15V power supply.
The NRX1 is compatible with both the TX1 series of transmitters, and the BiM1 transceiver product. Applications are multifarious, and include building security, EPOS and inventory tracking, remote industrial process monitoring and data networks. Because of their small size and low power consumption, these modules are suitable for use in battery powered portable designs such as handheld terminals.
This module is the latest addition to Radiometrix’ comprehensive portfolio of VHF receivers; which includes the CVR, RX1, BiM1R and RX1L (151.300 MHz). These products are complimented by the TX1, TX1H, HX1, BiM1T, BiM1HT transmitters.
