Saelig Introduces High-performance Economical Bluetooth Barcode Scanner

Saelig has introduced the CM-500W3 – a high performance, handheld 2.4GHz Class I Bluetooth barcode scanner, designed for everyday use. The CM-500W3 uses a linear CCD image sensor with a built-in 630nm red LED illumination source. The CM-500W3’s internal 32-bit microprocessor reads linear barcodes at 100 scan/sec at a distance of 2 – 10.

The versatile CM-500W3 is compact (5 x 1.5 x 0.7) and lightweight (2 oz) and features 2 keys (scan/clear) plus a beeper and LEDs to indicate read status. With a USB cable attached, it becomes a plug & scan scanner. Without the USB cable, it functions as a memory or wireless scanner. As a Bluetooth device, it can be programmed as a Master or Slave device to allow communication between a Windows PC, a mobile phone or a PDA for instant or delayed data entry. The CM-500W3 ‘s built-in Li-polymer battery pack (3.7V, 420mAH) can be recharged via any USB port, and the unit can read up to 15,000 scans before requiring a recharge.

The CM-500W3’s performance is remarkable – even scanning fine pitch barcodes through translucent static bags. The internal non-volatile memory can store up to 500 scans. The CM-500W3 is configurable for time stamp and output data format, and can transmit data to a remote PC either in keyboard wedge mode as if typing on a keyboard, or in memory mode, whereby up to 500 scans are stored for batch entry. Supported barcodes include Code 39, INT 25, Industrial 2 of 5, Matrix 2 of 5, Codabar(NW7), Code 93, Code 128,EAN 128, JAN/EAN/ UPC and fully RSS code (GS1 Databar ).
