Multi-wireless modem enables antenna flexibility

The new Pinnacle 100 cellular modem from Laird Connectivity is in stock at distributor Mouser Electronics.

The multi-wireless modem combines the benefits of Bluetooth 5 technology with low-power cellular LTE connectivity in a single, fully integrated solution.

Fully certified for radio regulatory, cellular and network carrier purposes, the Pinnacle 100 modem is an ideal low-power solution for battery-operated devices operating at the edge of Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The modem is also suitable for connected home, predictive maintenance, retail, security, and environmental monitoring applications.

The Laird Connectivity Pinnacle 100 cellular modem features an onboard Arm Cortex-M4F core, full Bluetooth 5 and LTE-M/NB-IoT capabilities, and the Zephyr Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).

The modem offers antenna flexibility for designers, supporting integrated and external options and external options.

The Zephyr RTOS speeds up the application design process while reducing bill of materials costs, enabling new use cases using long-range Bluetooth-enabled sensors.

The modem also simplifies common activities such as configuring and creating an LTE connection in a product by using a mobile application on a smartphone.

Mouser also stocks the Pinnacle 100 development kit, which offers a platform for rapid Bluetooth Low Energy and cellular connectivity prototyping.

The comprehensive kit includes a development board, nano SIM card with prepaid data, power supply, Bluetooth Low Energy-enabled sensor tag, antenna options, cables, and hardware. The kit also includes access to a complete cloud demo environment.

The Pinnacle 100 modem is fully certified to FCC, IC, CE, and Bluetooth SIG, as well as PTCRB and GCF, with AT&T, Verizon, and Vodafone end device-certification pending.
