The system’s low-level infra-red digital encoding technology poses no health hazard even though areas up to 10,000 square metres can be covered. Signals are virtually impossible to detect and are completely immune to electromagnetic interference – even severe energy pulses.
Providing multi-channel, full-duplex communications, the system comprises a compact base station, a number of fixed infra-red antennas, a choice of noise-attenuating or ultra lightweight headsets, operators’ belt-mounted battery packs/control units, and a central battery-charger unit.
All elements of the system are robustly designed for use in demanding environments such as those found on board ships, in submarines, in helicopters or in armoured vehicles.
