DesignArt Networks delivers DAN3300 low-cost multi-potocol SoC for Picocell Access Points

DAN3300 single-SoC Platform for low-cost Picocell Access Points – As DesignArt Networks introduces its ground-breaking 40nm DAN3000 SoC family with the launch of five distinct SoC chips, the company today announced its third base station SoC platform – the DAN3300.

The DAN3300 is a multi-protocol base station SoC for low-cost, high-performance femto- and picocell access points for 3G or LTE deployments. The DAN3300 is the only future-proof low-cost single-SoC solution on the market, with full 4G LTE performance – targeting the small cell layer of a heterogeneous 4G network with a focus on indoor deployment.

“The DAN3300 is driven by a cost-optimized version of DesignArt’s powerful baseband technology, augmented with multi-protocol hardware acceleration for high-capacity in- and outdoor W-CDMA or LTE picocell access points,” said Assaf Touboul, DesignArt Networks CTO. “Consuming less than 4 Watts, the DAN3300 supports full 4G performance and advanced antenna array signal processing capabilities, using four transmit and four receive paths, and delivers up to 300 Mbps of total service capacity to up to 128 subscribers.”

The DAN3300 integrates all base station processing layers with a digital RF front-end, enabling glue-less connectivity to any RF-IC chip, offering the most cost-effective single-chip design options. The SoC drives a 4×4 antenna array – ready for advanced LTE features, such as interference cancellation or MU-MIMO.

“For indoor deployments, operators are looking for high-performance, yet cost-effective picocell solutions,” said Will Strauss, President of Forward Concepts. “With the DAN3300 DesignArt offers a multi-protocol SoC platform for low-cost, single-chip mobile access points, ideal for deployments in enterprise offices, public hot spots, or large buildings.”
