Developed for use in wireless applications, a SMD Crystal from the SMD02016/4 series has been unveiled by PETERMANN-TECHNIK. Coming in a compact, ceramic, 2.0 x 1.6 mm casing, the crystal enables excellent oscillation safety factors due to lower resistances.

The device features standard frequencies for ISM bands, wireless M-Bus, ZigBee, WLAN, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, etc. The crystal boasts a fundamental frequency spectrum of between 24MHz and 60 MHz., fequency tolerances of +- 10 ppm at 25°C and temperature stabilities of +- 8 ppm (0/+50°C). Further to this, the crystal features aging rates of +-1 ~ +- 3ppm and has a temperature range of -40 to +85°C.

Higher frequencies can be delivered, allowing both narrowband and broadband concepts to be realised depending on the requirements. Designed for use in industrial or medical applications, the crystal can be configured with a simple Pierce oscillator design (two external capacities to GND).
