Operating from 100MHz to 1GHz, the CMX992 supports multi-standard digital and analogue systems of both constant envelope and linear modulation types. The product’s I/Q architecture supports a wide range of modulation types, with various integrated, selectable functions on offer to maintain performance across multiple modulations and bandwidths.
The Rx path includes an integrated 1st RF mixer having two outputs to support two external 1st IF filter choices, then an integrated 2:1 filtered 1st IF input MUX, followed by VGA and wideband RSSI functions to support AGC implementation.
The 1st IF signal can be either I/Q demodulated to zero IF, or mixed down to a Low IF output. The demodulator outputs are analogue, for simplified connection to external low-power ADCs.
The CMX992 is available now, operates at 3.3V/1.8V and comes in a 48-pin VQFN package. The CMX992 offers the designer excellent performance, flexibility and fast time-to-market. An evaluation kit (EV9920) and support tools are also available for the CMX992.
The CMX992 will be showcased at the Electronica exhibition held in Munich, Germany later in the year (CML – stand A5-324). Visit the CML website for further product information and technical support.
