MATATALAB has announced its Kickstarter campaign for its educational robot kit. While there are already many educational robot toys on the market, this robot focuses on a crucial stage of brain development. Around age four the brain lays the groundwork for development of logic. The company aims to help to foster the brain development through interactive, physical gameplay with hands-on coding blocks and the feedback from the MatataBot educational robot.
The MatataLab educational robot kit was designed for children of ages 4-9 years old, allowing families and educators to enjoy exploring the children’s first foray into programming, music, and art, making it one of the first educational robots indiscriminative of race, gender or education level.
Learning the logic of programming without a computer
Computer programming is based on simple logical concepts that can be learned by children early in life through simple games developed specifically for their age.
Equipped with the understanding of these fundamental concepts, children at a later age will be able to grasp more abstract concepts of STEM classes and real programming at school and can learn without fear.

The interaction comes from customising the robot with funny costumes for special occasions, and role-playing through minifigs, all the while exploring the simple programming logic that drives the MatataLab experience.

One of them, Dr. Jef van Kuyk (Educational Psychologist), has used his 40 years of educational experience, as founder of the Dutch 'Pyramid method', to provide invaluable insights in developing children's learning methods through evaluation and assessment testing.
Expanding the MatataLab experience
On top of the MatataLab hardware, future enhancements will come in the form of a Scratch app for Windows, Android, and IOS devices, which will serve as a true extension of classroom learning where children can easily pick up more advanced levels of coding through the elements they learned in Kindergarten.
