Intel drones to the rescue

First responders from the Menlo Park Fire District, based in the technology hotbed of Silicon Valley, are pioneering the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to better and more quickly access and fight fires and save lives.

Since 2014, the department has developed expertise that could someday make drones an essential tool for every fire department.

In the video below, firemen are using a commercial-grade Intel Falcon 8+ drone, designed for rugged conditions, including high wind conditions, heavy dust, high or low temperatures, and close to cell towers or electrical lines without magnetic or radio frequency interference to the compass and other sensors onboard.
