A hot topic in medical technology is Integration. steute Meditec is furthering this trend with the development of wireless user interfaces to control different medical devices – as well as other innovations also based on integration and wireless technologies.

One of these is an App which enables smartphones and tablets to communicate directly with the user interfaces of medical devices. This App, which can be used by medical device manufacturers and users alike, will be presented by steute Meditec at the Medica.

Medical device manufacturers can use the App to configure the assignment of push-button functions, for example, as well as transmission performance and duration. It can also facilitate pairing of a terminal device with a new steute user interface. The App enables users to query the charge status of the battery via tablet or to send a message to the smartphone if the interface battery is running low.

The App has been developed for the later generations of steute Meditec user interfaces which use the ‘steute Wireless’ protocol SW2.4LE -MED and are equipped with a Bluetooth low-energy module. It will be available for Android devices in the Google Play Store. Additional variants for other operating systems will follow.
