Providing a protective net for the post-pandemic era

Since 2019, COVID-19 has swept the world, initiating an intensive battle against this highly infectious virus. In addition to the widespread use of vaccines, there is rising awareness amongst socially responsible organisations of how cutting-edge technology can be used to suppress the spread of the virus.

The industrial computer series, Cincoze DS-1300 has provided epidemic prevention equipment for vendors and public organisations. The DS-1300 serves the dual functions of intelligent thermal gate warning system and intelligent AMR, demonstrating the key role of the DS-1300 in epidemic prevention in the post-pandemic era.

Intelligent Thermal Gate Warning System - high speed image processing and rich I/O required: In addition to vaccines, the primary approach to containing the virus is to use thermal sensing and security notification systems to detect suspected infections quickly to limit contact and prevent infectivity.

As the vital role of the thermal sensing and security notification system, the DS-1300 needs to possess high-performance image recognition and connect to multiple peripherals. The DS-1300 supports a 10th generation Intel Xeon or Core processor, providing up to ten cores with a maximum of 80W of power. This generation offers a 31% performance increase over the previous generation, and combined with up to 64GB of DDR4 SO-DIMMs, it can effortlessly control multiple devices. The DS-1300 can also support a PCIe GPU card of up to 110W, further increasing image processing power.

Flexible I/O selection is a highlight of the DS-1300 series. In addition to its native high-speed I/O interfaces, like GbE LAN, COM, USB 3.2, it can be customised to meet the particular requirements of gate control and alarm system. Multiple expansion variations are possible with Cincoze’s various CMI, MEC, and CFM modules, including 14x GbE LAN, 2x 10GbE, 32x DIO, 8x M12, 4x COM, 4x USB 3.2, and PoE. The DS-1300 is the perfect choice as the first line of defence at the entrances of large public venues or international events such as FIFA games and the Olympics.

Intelligent Disinfection AMR - performance, connectivity, and ruggedness: Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), once used exclusively for smart factories to move goods, have now been adapted to deal with the epidemic. Epidemic prevention equipment providers have taken advantage of AMR capabilities to launch robots with intelligent disinfection functions. For an intelligent disinfection robot, AMRs must operate autonomously to avoid obstacles and communicate with the fleet control software that assigns the robots’ duties. The control core of the AMR requires a robust industrial computer, and the specifications of the DS-1300 fit the bill.

The DS-1300 has COM, USB, and PoE ports to connect to infrared sensors or high-speed cameras to detect and avoid obstacles in the surrounding environment and choose the most effective route to the target. The built-in mini PCIe supports a WiFi/4G/GPS module to track, locate and remotely monitor the AMR and send data to ensure disinfection. The DS-1300 series handles temperatures from -40℃ to +70℃ and input voltage from 9 to 48VDC, and has overvoltage, overcurrent, and ESD protection. The system has also passed the military-level shock and vibration certification MIL-STD-810G, making it suitable for the rigors of outdoor use. For maximum convenience, the dual SIM card slots, 2.5” SATA tray, and CMOS battery replacement slot are accessible through the front panel.
