CPAP mask conforms to the patient’s face

ResMed has released what it says is its softest mask yet. The AirTouch F20 features a memory foam material that conforms to the patient’s face while minimising the force it applies to the skin. The material is actually porous, allowing air and sweat to slowly seep out, while maintaining tight contact to maintain the air pressure necessary for the therapy to be effective. The tightness can also be adjusted to increase the seal depending on the delivered air pressure.

The mask should work with just about any CPAP machine on the market and it’s already being made available to patients in the U.S. and Canada. Resmed will also soon begin making it available to people in other markets around the world.
