Kontron introduces SMARTCASE S501 for Mini-STX Motherboards

Kontron, a global specialist in IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), has launched the SMARTCASE S501 mini kit solution.

This compact kit, with a volume of only 0.87 litres, is optimally designed to complement the latest K3921-N and K3921-H mini-STX motherboards, which are powered by Intel Core i3 and Intel N-series (Alder Lake N) processors.

The S501 features two front USB ports, including one USB-C 3.2 Gen1 with Alternate Mode for Power Delivery and DP output, alongside four USB 3.2 ports at the back.

It also offers two LAN ports, one optional COM port, and supports a Kensington Lock. The chassis is versatile, suitable for both horizontal and vertical use, and can be wall-mounted or attached to a monitor via VESA mounting. The chassis can be customised with a variety of accessories, including active and passive cooling solutions, AC adapters, cables, and expansion cards.

Fully validated and certified (CE Class B, Industrial Immunity, FCC Class B), the SMARTCASE ensures a minimum availability of seven years when used with a K3921-N motherboard. It is particularly suitable for semi-industrial and industrial settings, including KIOSK, POS/POI, and digital signage applications.

The housing kit solution is expected to be available from Q1/2024.
