acontis technologies, ISIT, and SYSGO announce their joint presence at SPS Nuremberg (Smart Production Solutions) 2025 in Hall 5, Booth 418. The event is taking place from 25-27th November 2025.
Visitors are invited to experience an exclusive live demonstration showcasing certifiable functional safety over EtherCAT (FSoE) – a powerful cross-vendor collaboration that brings together real-time, safety, and virtualisation technologies.
A demonstrator that brings functional safety to life
At the acontis booth (Hall 5 – Booth 418), attendees will have the opportunity to explore a fully integrated FSoE demonstrator, built on the NXP i.MX8MP hardware platform and designed to highlight real-time performance, modularity, and portability across embedded environments.
The joint setup combines:
- acontis’ EC-Master Stack running in a Linux guest via hardware virtualisation
- ISIT’s certifiable FSoE stack operating in a real-time PikeOS native partition
- SYSGO’s PikeOS RTOS & Hypervisor, enabling safe partitioning and a robust black-channel approach for functional safety
Through efficient inter-process communication, the FSoE layer is cleanly integrated on top of the EtherCAT stack with drivers running in user space – demonstrating a flexible, scalable architecture suitable for industrial automation, transportation, robotics, and other mission-critical domains.
“This live demo shows the power of a modern, modular real-time architecture,” says Thomas Waggershauser, Head of Sales & Marketing at acontis technologies. “Visitors will see how high performance and safety can be seamlessly combined – even in complex embedded environments.”
“Our FSoE stack is designed for certification, and seeing it interact with EtherCAT inside a safe, partitioned system really brings its capabilities to life,” adds Franck Montagné, Chief Technology Officer at ISIT. “It’s a compelling example of what next-generation automation systems can achieve.”
“PikeOS enables safe coexistence of real-time applications, safety components, and virtualisation in a single system,” notes Joe Richmond-Knight, Field Applications Engineer at SYSGO. “This demonstrator highlights how safety and innovation do not have to be separate worlds.”
Why visit the booth?
Visitors to Hall 5 – Booth 418 will experience:
- A firsthand look at certifiable FSoE technology in action
- In-depth technical discussions with experts from all three partners
- Insights into real-time performance, safety integration, and virtualization concepts
- Inspiration for how these technologies can enhance safety and productivity in their own automation architectures
Whether you’re developing safety-critical products, modernising industrial systems, or exploring new embedded architectures, this joint demonstrator offers a practical, forward-looking showcase.
