binder will be showcasing the latest additions to its comprehensive M12 connector portfolio including a hybrid connector that combines power and signal contacts and a shielded M5 connector system for today’s high-performance sensor applications. Also on display will be an M16 X – coded connector capable of handling data transmission speeds up to an impressive 10Gbits/s.

The first models in a new range of M12 A coded, moulded connectors that incorporate both power and signal/data contacts will be prominently featured.

The versatility of these “hybrid” M12 connectors will interest those responsible for today’s complex applications where both power and signal are required in a limited space. These include sensors, actuators, motors and drives and controls systems.

The first versions to be made available have nine contacts consisting of two gold plated power contacts rated to 12A at 63V and gold plated seven signal contacts rated to 0.5A at 12.5V.

The Polyurethane (PUR) moulded cable connector features 0.75mm2 AWG 18 wires for power and 0.14mm2 AWG 26 for signal. As standard, it is supplied with 2m or 5m of cable with alternative lengths available on request. When mated, they provide protection to IP67 and an operating temperature range of -25⁰C to 85⁰C.

M12 X-coded

binder’s range of X-coded M12 connectors feature data transmission speeds of up to 10Gbit/s. The high bandwidth is achieved by isolating the four pairs of wires from one another with a cross or X-coding shield for separation of the transmissions.  This ensures that the Ethernet wiring will remain compatible with the growing requirement to transmit high volumes of data. The X-coding conforms to the industry standard IEC 61076-2-109 and is specified for broadband transmission by Ethernet protocols including PROFINET.

High pin-count M16 X-coded

This new M16 X – coded connector is also capable of handling data transmission speeds up to 10Gbits/s.With the benefits of rugged design and excellent environmental resistance, M16 connectors have become widely used for sensors for both indoor and outdoor use where there is a need for a higher pin count than is offered by M8 and M12 connectors.

The binder 415 Series includes a male/female cable connector along with a panel mounted female connector which is designed to be front fastened. When mated, they are rated to IP67. They have 8 gold (Au) plated contacts rated to 0.5A at 50V AC, 60V DC and can accommodate cables ranging from 5.5 to 9mm diameter.

M12 A-coded for Food and Beverage

Binder’s M12 A-coded connectors are designed specifically for a variety of applications in the food and beverage sectors. The range includes moulded and angled male and female cable connectors and connecting cables with M12 threads. The moulded heads are made from cream-coloured RAL 9001 polypropylene plastic and the cables have a grey PVC jacket.

As well as the food and beverage sector, these new M12 circular connectors are suitable for use in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and in other types of industrial food processing, including milk and cheese dairies, abattoirs, bottling plants and food storage.
