SMSC’s low-power USB3750 Port Protection and Detection device is specifically designed for mobile embedded applications where a shared USB connection is required. Leveraging SMSC’s RapidCharge Anywhere functionality, the USB3750 can be used to seamlessly provide USB Battery Charging detection as well as detect industry standard SE1 type chargers. The device provides system VBUS protection and offers over-voltage and under-voltage lock-out features for system voltage customization. The USB3750 includes an integrated Hi-Speed USB 2.0 switch allowing for two signal paths to connect to the single point of connectivity. The pin count has been minimized, making the device well-suited for mobile, battery-powered systems where power consumption, small package size, and minimal BOM are critical design requirements.
