OMNIVISION has introduced the  OX03J10, a 3-MP CMOS system-on-chip (SoC) image sensor, notable for its 140dB high dynamic range (HDR) and LED flicker mitigation (LFM).

This technology ensures superior image quality in various lighting conditions. The OX03J10 SoC is particularly suited for applications in surround-view systems (SVS), rear-view cameras (RVC), and camera-monitoring systems (CMS). The integration of the image sensor with a dedicated image signal processor (ISP) within a single SoC enhances HDR and LFM performance while reducing the overall size and cost of the device.

Naresh Shetty, Automotive Staff Marketing Manager at OMNIVISION, commented: “As a global leader in in-cabin automotive image sensors, OMNIVISION has a long history of providing advanced solutions for driver-assistance systems and autonomous driving. The OX03J10 is designed to support high-level assisted-driving functions in 360-degree SVS and CMS, delivering excellent performance in low-light conditions. It offers a comprehensive feature set that includes lens and pixel correction, a combination of HDR/LFM, tone mapping, automatic image processing, imaging effects, and low power consumption.”

The OX03J10 excels in sensitivity, allowing it to capture objects and changes in road conditions swiftly and precisely, especially during high-speed operations. It optimises image clarity under challenging light conditions or short exposure times. The LFM feature of the OX03J10 plays a crucial role in eliminating LED flicker, thus enhancing driver safety.

This SoC is a low-power device offering 1920x1536 resolution in a 1/2.4-inch optical format and is housed in the industry’s most compact a-CSP package. It incorporates OMNIVISION’s PureCel technology and utilises a 3-micron (µm) Deep Well split pixel design. The OX03J10 is capable of outputting YUV and RAW data simultaneously and is compliant with ASIL-C safety standards, highlighting its suitability for a wide range of automotive applications.
