ENNOVI, a Singapore-based manufacturer best known for its automotive battery and powertrain solutions, has announced plans to expand its focus beyond the automotive industry, positioning itself to capture growth opportunities arising from global electrification and artificial intelligence (AI) trends.
The company, which has long supplied connectivity systems to the automotive sector—from mild hybrid to battery-electric vehicles (BEVs)—said it would now apply its expertise in power and signal connectivity to other industries, including aerospace, consumer devices, data storage, and industrial applications.
Stefan Rustler, ENNOVI’s Chief Executive, described the move as a “natural evolution” for the company. “By leveraging our innovation, speed, and global reach, we are set to empower customers to follow the electrification and AI megatrends across diverse industries to get to the future, faster, from anywhere,” he said.
As part of the expansion, Interplex Medical—formerly operating as a separate brand—will merge under the ENNOVI name. The medical arm provides precision-engineered solutions for applications such as diagnostics, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and minimally invasive surgery, serving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) developing smart medical devices.
ENNOVI said its lean structure and regionally dedicated teams would enable the rapid customisation of interconnects, busbars, power modules, and battery systems for specific customer needs. The company emphasised that this flexibility would allow OEMs in new sectors to innovate at greater speed while maintaining localised support.
Despite its diversification, ENNOVI stressed that it would remain committed to the automotive sector, citing continued demand for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) as a transitional technology and differing regional adoption rates for hybrid and fully electric models.
The dual-track strategy, the company said, strengthens its position as a strategic partner in industries undergoing rapid electrification and AI transformation.
Founded as a connectivity solutions provider, ENNOVI now aims to “empower industries worldwide to accelerate electrification and AI transformation, driving smarter, faster, and more sustainable growth.”
