Designed for railway, rolling stock and industrial applications, XP Power extends the company's line up of EN50121-3-2 certified DC/DC converters. The RDC20 and RDC40 series of 20 and 40W metal encapsulated converters are available with input ranges of 36-140 or 55-176VDC and offer high efficiency of 90% (typical).

The PCB mounted converters are available with single outputs of +3.3, +5, +12 or + 15VDC or with dual outputs of ±12 or ±15VDC. The RDC20 is also available with a ±5VDC dual output. Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C, the DC/DC converters can operate to full power using convection cooling up to +50°C or up to +60°C with an optional heat sink. The maximum case temperature is +105°C.

The RDC20 and RDC40 series feature remote On/Off, output over voltage, input under voltage and over current protection. The single output models also include an output trim function providing ±10% adjustment from stated nominal output. The converters provide basic input to output isolation up to 1500VAC and input/output to case of 1600VDC.

The RDC20 and RDC40 series DC/DC converters are available now, supplied with a three year warranty.
