Bourns recently introduced a new line of automotive grade, AEC-Q200 compliant wide terminal thick film resistors. The newly launched line, the CWM-Q Series is designed to support the high power density and robust performance required in many of today’s applications.
As automotive and industrial designers increasingly seek higher watt‑per‑area and solder‑joint reliability, Bourns designed its new thick film resistor line with wide terminals that provide enhanced thermal dissipation and mechanical stability. This makes them particularly well suited for automotive ECUs, LED lighting modules, power management systems and other heat-sensitive power applications that require high dependability.
The Bourns CWM-Q Series is available in compact 0612 and 1225 package sizes with power ratings up to 2 W and resistance values ranging from 1 ohm (Ω) to 1 megaohm (MΩ), offering additional flexibility to accommodate various design needs.
Constructed with RoHS-compliant* materials and designed for compatibility with standard reflow soldering processes, the CWM-Q Series features a wide operating temperature range from -55 °C to +155 °C. The series has also been tested for endurance under accelerated stress conditions, including thermal cycling, high temperature exposure, moisture resistance and mechanical shock.
