Configurable control unit with I/O and CAN FD connection

PEAK-System has released the PCAN-MicroMod FD ECU, a universal control unit for the integration of custom accessories in automotive applications.

For this purpose, it provides a CAN FD connection as well as a mix of analog and digital I/Os, for example 16-bit analog inputs with configurable measuring ranges up to ±20 Volt or High-side output switches with up to 5 Ampere. The device is designed for use in commercial and heavy-duty vehicles under harsh conditions having a rugged IP67 housing and dual automotive connectors. Following successful testing, the PCAN-MicroMod FD ECU has received ECE type approval E1.

As part of the PCAN-MicroMod FD product line, the device is configured with a free Windows program. In addition to simply mapping I/Os to CAN IDs, function blocks for processing the data are available. The configuration created on the computer is transferred via the CAN bus to the PCAN-MicroMod FD which then runs as a stand-alone CAN node. Multiple modules can be configured independently on a CAN bus.
