The Bioplastics Innovation Forum near Munich will host the unveiling of kinariTM, a pioneering material by Panasonic Industry. Distinguished by its robustness, kinariTM is crafted from cellulose fibre sourced from a variety of plant waste materials, combined with a minimal quantity of oil-based resin.

Its innovative and proprietary manufacturing process ensures the material retains its natural whiteness, enabling a wide array of shapes, colours, and textures.

kinariTM is notable for its environmentally friendly production method, which considerably lowers CO2 emissions when compared to conventional processes. This material incorporates a broad spectrum of waste products, including spent coffee grounds, surplus wood from forest management, and by-products from sake production, thereby not impacting the food supply chain.

The kinariTM initiative is committed to enhancing its biomass content, aiming for a formulation that is 100% derived from biomass, thereby completely eliminating the use of petroleum-based resins. It supports both biological recycling via industrial composting and material recycling, promoting a truly circular economy.

The Bioplastics Innovation Forum in Munich, Germany, offers an initial opportunity to see kinariTM products and gain insight into their advantages and applications.

On 6th March, Mickaela Robertson, New Business Development Manager at Panasonic Industry Europe, will present detailed information about kinariTM, stating: "Integrating bioplastics into our sustainability strategy reflects our dedication to a more sustainable future where innovation aligns with ecological stewardship. We are thrilled to share our knowledge about kinariTM with companies from diverse sectors."

Companies can easily integrate kinariTM as a plastic substitute without the necessity for new machinery. Several brands from Japan and around the world, across various sectors, have already partnered with Panasonic to create products using kinariTM, garnering favourable consumer response. kinariTM represents more than just a sustainable material; it is a significant component of the Panasonic GREEN IMPACT initiative, in line with the organisation's pledge towards a carbon-neutral, sustainable global ecosystem.
