The Israeli Ministry of Defence Procurement and Production Directorate (PPD) has selected exterior LED lights by Imco Industries, for a project if upgrading IDF tank transports. Imco Industries, provider of electrical harnesses, control boxes, electromechanical devices and LED lights for military applications, breaks new ground as the industry’s designer and manufacturer of these LED lights.

With flexible and compact design, it allows easy fitting into the constrained spaced of military vehicles and equipment.

Modern LED lights will be installed onto the tank transporters to make them noticed by other drivers from long distance and in bad weather conditions.

The aim of the system is safety, to prevent accidents caused by drivers’ wrong judgement of the tank transporters width. In addition to powerful rear LED lights, LED vehicle markers are to be installed alongside the tank transporters.

Three powerful LED work lamps will be used on the tank transporters to enable sufficient lighting during loading and unloading of tanks from the transporters.

Boaz Weiss, Imco’s VP Marketing and Business Development said this is a significant contract for the company on one of them most important IDF Programmes. “Imco has a well-established success record of providing LED lights for Armored Vehicles which are used currently worldwide by the Israel Defense Forces (NAMER APC) and other modern armed forces, as well as leading defense manufacturers both for tracked and wheeled vehicles.“

He added: “We were awarded recently several prestigious programmes and we continue with our efforts to develop smaller, lighter and more powerful LED Lamps for military applications. We intend to globally sell the new LED lights to manufacturers of trucks, tractors, agriculture and heavy duty vehicles, and to focus on the European market.”
