The first technology partner for Arrow Electronics’ crowdfund-to-production collaboration with Indiegogo is TE Connectivity. “Arrow Certified” technology entrepreneurs on Indiegogo will now have access to hands-on technical support and engineering expertise from TE to help accelerate their time to market.

Arrow and Indiegogo announced the Arrow Certified program in August. Entrepreneurs can apply for Arrow certification on the Indiegogo platform. Arrow Electronics’ engineers then analyse the design and manufacturability of each application.

Projects deemed ready for manufacturing are denoted with official Arrow Certified badges on their Indiegogo campaign site to let potential backers know the project is ready for production upon reaching its funding goal.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with Arrow and Indiegogo, helping entrepreneurs transform their ideas into creations,” said Maria Cannon, vice president of channel marketing at TE. “As a connectivity and sensors leader, we are on the frontline of innovation every day. Our design expertise and breadth of products enable innovators to bring their inventions to market quickly and reliably.”

Arrow Certified campaigns on Indiegogo lock-in up to $50,000 in benefits that help entrepreneurs succeed in prototyping and manufacturing their innovative products. In addition, a handful of campaigns that Arrow experts deem truly technologically exceptional will qualify as Arrow Innovator campaigns and receive additional support.

“If you’re an entrepreneur with an idea for the next big smart, connected device, this is a tremendous opportunity to work with experts from a global sensor and connectivity powerhouse,” said Matt Anderson, Arrow’s chief digital officer. “Arrow-Certified campaigns on Indiegogo are getting access to invaluable production and go-to-market resources like this, and more. We’re excited to team with TE to accelerate the pace of technology innovation. This is an exciting new chapter in the longstanding collaboration between our two companies.”
